My wife and I recently visited Pho Thien and really enjoyed our meal. I had the Golden Fried Chicken with crispy skin, and my wife got the Rice Combo Special. Both were absolutely delicious! The staff was very friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the overall experience was great. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Pho Thien if you’re looking for great Vietnamese food!

I had to wait almost 3 weeks before I could write the review for this joint because Google has been blocking it. Now I didn't get any free drinks during my visit but I don't need it to give this joint 5 stars 🤩. I have never been to their original location, but this joint is not much to look at, it is laid out like a cafeteria to maximize the amount of customers and save costs, since it is by the outlet and the casino, it is meant for quick in and out type of business. Since it is pretty new, it is quite clean. You come here for the food, not for the ambient. The spring rolls were good, pretty standard, fresh ingredients, good peanut dipping sauce. The little rice cakes were exceptional, the texture was perfect, and I love the fried bits (ground shrimp, pork skin, onions) on top of them, the fish sauce was the perfect compliment. Now for the main, the Bùn (Vermicelli Noodle Bowl) had fresh veggies, pickled veggies, crispy spring rolls and tasty grilled pork. The Special Beef Noodle Soup was different from the standard Phò, but in a very good way, I love how rich the lemon grass flavor is in this soup, and it has a bit of kick. So, they have a QR code that says if you rate them, then you’ll get a free drink of your choice. That’s where most of the 5 star ratings come from. Initially, I gave them 5 stars but later I adjusted my rating based on my overall experience. I loved going to the Naperville location until 2 years ago when I noticed the drop in the overall experience. At the newly opened Aurora location, I don’t even see the staff that they have on their social media pages. It was different staff when we walked in. The service was awful. After they took our order and brought out our food, they just disappeared. When one of the guys gave us the food, he almost spilled some of the pho onto my girlfriend. He didn’t place it down gently. It looked like he was in a hurry so that he can go back to being on his phone. They didn’t come back to check to see if we needed any drink refills, napkins, etc. I could have used a couple more napkins. The food also wasn’t piping hot. We ordered banh mi xa xiu (with a fried egg), pho dac biet, and bun bo hue. The drinks were fine. We just ordered black and green milk tea. Place is a hidden gem. Tranquil atmosphere, something you don’t find on a busy street like Farnsworth Avenue. The out side construction noise from across the street as well as traffic noise doesn’t penetrate the place it’s quite calm and relaxing, perfect for a hot bowl of Pho. The flavor was amazing and the meats so tender. Definitely coming back over and over again.
